Welcome to the World William Wayne!!!

After nine months of waiting he is finally here!!! The birth experience wasn't what I had planned or thought it would be, but none of that matters because our little man is with us. After a doctors visit, where it was determined he was going to be a BIG BOY, we set up an induction date. We headed to the hosptial Wednesday the 23rd to begin the whole process.

Once arrived it took ome time to get things started. For about an hour Dustin and I just hung out in our ginormous room. Seriously, I was not aware how huge these rooms are. I suppose just in case you want everyone in the family to be a part you need enough space. Finally, the IV was in for the pitocin and fluids (OUCH), I was hooked up to the fetal monitor, and we got the ball rolling..or so we thought. This lady got NO sleep at all that first night. It wasn't even due to the contractions, the what seemed like never ending exams, or anything of that nature...it was simply because that was the mot uncomfortable bed EVER!!! Well after a sleepless night and one disappointing exam after another they finally took me off the pitocin Thursday night so I could shower and eat (thank  you God). Well Friday after a visit with my OB it was decided that I was not progressing as I should and that I had two options.. go home for the weekend and start this all over on Monday or have a C-Section that day. He then explained to me that even if I wanted to wait and start again on Monday that if I didn't respond pretty immediately that it would end up i na C-Section anyway. So we weighed our options...Dustin's Mom (who had drove down on Thursday) was already here and my Mom was flying in on Saturday...but then again a C-Section is surgery with risks and recovery...well after some discussion we decided that we didn't want to leave that hospital unless it was with our son. After that decision it was pretty instant. I got prepped as did Dustin. Within what seemed like no time at all, after a little mini breakdown, and a whole lot of pressure, at 2:08 pm on Friday the 25th of February we welcomed William Wayne Patrick into this world!!

Weighing in at 6lbs 14oz and 19 inches  he was not the oversized bundle of joy the doctors, nurses and ultrasound techs predicted...although the joy itself was anything but small!!!! Dustin and I just really still can't quite believe that was have been blessed with this amazing gift. I don't quite know what we did with ourselves before he was here!
